The gifting season is back again, with Valentine’s Day right around the corner. This year why not try making your celebration larger-than-life by booking a luxury spa treatment for you and your valentine?
MiD reviewer, Amela Dizdarevic, heads to The Spa at The Address Downtown located next to The Dubai Mall to check out their special treatment for couples.
The Spa, located on the 13th floor is one of the most sought-after spas in Dubai, winning the‘1st runner-up for the Best Signature Facial Treatment’ at the Middle East Spa Awards at The Hotel Show 2011, and the Best International Hotel Spa for a City Break by Spa Traveller.
Here is what Amela has to say about the Glow Together treatment for couples.
Entering the space instantly triggers your inner bliss with its contemporary décor, delicate lighting, peaceful ambience, and an incredible view of The Fountain at The Dubai Mall. The treatment, Glow Together, is a special 90 minute treatment for couples. It begins with a 10 minute foot rub, leading to a 30 minute scrub and wash, and ends with a 50 minute full body massage.
After the invigorating foot rub, the full body scrub can be done with your partner in private, or with the masseuse. The body scrub is made using a fine paste made of sea salt mineral with a hint of lavender oil to exfoliate the skin, and rejuvenate areas that are usually ignored. The essence especially gives a calming effect, taking you into a tranquil illusion.
After having your skin exfoliated, nourished and relaxed, the treatment concludes with the much anticipated 50 minute full body massage. They gave us an array of special oil choices that are as follows:
- Wake up – That helps in rejuvenation and giving you a burst of energy.
- De-Stress – That helps you unwind and relax.
- Calming – For a soothing and restful experience.
- Deep Tissue – A deep excavation to uplift your muscles.
We made our way to the treatment, after choosing the Deep Tissue oil. This again had a hint of lavender that relaxed your senses, allowing you to tap the inner chill out zone. The masseuse was professional, fully aware of the right amount of pressure to be used and very attentive throughout the entire experience. The treatment wrapped up with warm beads draped around our necks to help us loosen up.
Once the massage was over, the masseuse lifted up the massage bed to give us a fantastic view of the Fountain during the dance routine.
The couple’s treatment Glow together cost AED 1,250 for two people, and seems to be worth every penny. It is luxurious, pampering and a great romantic spot to celebrate this Valentine’s Day.
